Anti-Modi Alliance Wins Local Body Elections in Occupied Kashmir..



The anti-Modi coalition led by Farooq Abdullah won the local body elections in the occupied valley.
According to Indian media, a coalition of seven parties led by former Chief Minister of Occupied Kashmir Farooq Abdullah has won the District Development Council elections in Occupied Kashmir. In the local body elections, the anti-Modi coalition won 112 out of 280 seats. The BJP won 74 seats, the Congress 26 and the Independents 49 seats. According to the Election Commission, the process of local body elections in Occupied Kashmir was completed in eight phases from November 28 to December 19, while more than 51% of the 6 million registered voters in 20 districts of the Valley casted their vote. On the other hand, Omar Abdullah, vice-president of the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, accused the administration of pressuring independent candidates to join the BJP, saying that independent candidates were being sent to Srinagar for talks while a member his party has been abducted by police for contacting independent candidates.
