Peace in the Region and Pakistan's role

Amid talks between the Kabul government and the Afghan Taliban in Doha to establish lasting peace in war-torn Afghanistan, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday met with US Army Chief of Staff General Austin Miller and US Special Representative for Afghanistan. The meeting with Ambassador Zalmai Khalilzad is of paramount importance. The meeting reviewed the progress in the Afghan peace process and discussed other issues of mutual interest, especially the regional security situation. General Bajwa vowed that Pakistan would continue its positive role for peace and stability in the region while Zalmai Khalilzad praised Pakistan's role in this regard. The first round of talks between the Taliban and the Kabul government on the political future of Afghanistan in Doha has ended and the second and perhaps decisive round will now begin on January 5. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has proposed holding the second round of talks somewhere in Afghanistan, rather than in Doha, to bring the story to an end. The Afghan peace process is the result of Pakistan's efforts. Pakistan has not only paved the way for peace and stability not only in Afghanistan but in the entire region by bringing the Taliban to the negotiating table, but it has also been playing a vital role for world peace. In this regard, Pakistan's role as a part of the United Nations peacekeeping force sent to different countries and regions of the world has been very active and excellent. International agencies, including the United Nations, have paid tribute to the services rendered by the Pakistan Army's peacekeeping forces in the region. As far as Afghan peace is concerned, Pakistan's efforts in this regard are not hidden from anyone. Now that the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan has begun, the Kabul government and the Taliban are busy negotiating to determine their country's political future. But the idea of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan is possible only if the Kabul government and the Taliban agree on a future political structure. One of the issues in this regard is how to ensure the implementation and implementation of this framework after its implementation. The United States is in constant touch with Pakistan in this regard and it is also important because Pakistan's role in Afghanistan's peace and stability in terms of geographical, historical, cultural and religious ties cannot be ignored but unfortunately due to enmity with Pakistan He wants to get the role for himself even though India shares a border with Afghanistan and has no other values in common. The United States has to make the right decision in this regard in the interest of peace and the right decision is to keep India away from Afghanistan otherwise the dream of lasting peace and stability in the region will never come true. New Democratic US President Joe Biden is known as a more tolerant and resourceful politician than outgoing Republican President Trump. It is to be hoped that India, which is already using Afghan territory for terrorist activities against Pakistan, will not be allowed to intervene in Afghanistan. Not only in this region, the peace of the whole world depends on the decision of Afghanistan to be made by Afghans only. Pakistan has been doing and will continue to do what it can to help them in this regard.
