COVID19: The Second Wave

Despite the adoption of smart or money lock downs and all precautionary measures in most parts of the country's major cities, the growing number of corona virus cases is not only worrisome but also calls into question the steps taken by the administration. According to figures compiled by the National Command and Operations Center, there have been 71 deaths from Corona in the past 24 hours. Dr. Zeb Al-Nisa, head of pathology at Beer Medical College in KP, also died. The death toll from the corona virus has risen to 2% of positive cases, while the rate of positive cases has reached 6.5 and the total number of active cases has reached 45,124. According to the NCOC, 2,729 people have been infected with the corona virus in the past 24 hours. So far, the number of corona virus cases in the country has reached 435,056 and the total number of deaths due to it has reached 8,724. The highest positive case rate in Karachi was recorded at 20.88%. The government's careful and excellent response to the first wave of corona virus has been praised around the world, but unlike the first wave, the second wave of corona is not only more dangerous but is spreading more rapidly. There are several ways to combat this disease. Vaccines are also about to reach the market but the people of Pakistan should know that this vaccine needs at least 6 to 8 months to come to Pakistan till then only precaution is the only cure for this disease. It is important that while the government should ensure strict implementation of Corona SOPs, the public should also take full precautionary measures against Corona, proving that they are responsible citizens.
