ISLAMABAD: Consultant has been appointed for the Ravi Urban City project

ISLAMABAD: Consultant has been appointed for the Ravi Urban City project while the release of funds has also been approved. Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the island projects will increase employment for the local people.



A review meeting of Ravi Urban Development and Pakistan Island projects was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister Ali Zaidi, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Special Assistant Dr Shahbaz Gill, Chairman Pakistan Island Development Authority Imran Amin, Lt Gen (retd) Anwar Ali Haider, Chairman and Major General (retd) Amir Aslam Khan and Deputy Chairman Pakistan Housing Authority. Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister Dr. Salman Shah, Chief Secretary Punjab, Chairman (RUDA) Rashid Aziz and senior officers were present through video link. The Prime Minister was informed in the meeting that design and construction consultant has been appointed for Ravi Urban City project Preparations are complete for the release of the program for. In addition, the Punjab government has also approved the release of funds in principle referring to the Pakistan Island Development Authority, the Prime Minister was informed that technical consultancy is being scrutinized while a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with LEAD Pakistan for environmental protection. A memorandum of understanding has also been signed with the Alliance. Instructing to complete both the projects as per the target, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Ravi City and Island City are huge projects which will increase employment for the local people and improve their economic condition. The Prime Minister directed to hold an investment conference for investors and said that a comprehensive strategy should be worked out to take full advantage of the interest of foreign investors in these projects.
