Government and Opposition Should Avoid Collisions For The Betterment of Pakistan
In the politics of the country, instead of understanding,
tolerance and tolerance, there is a tradition of provocative struggle and
insulting and ridiculing each other. Who will benefit and who will suffer? It
is difficult and premature to say anything about this, but one thing is clear,
this is certainly not a good omen for democracy. Disagreement is called the
beauty of democracy because it is dominated by the good. When the two sides try
to find a way to reconciliation in good faith through debate and
discrimination, there is no issue that cannot be settled but the history of
elections in Pakistan has always been repeating itself. The political
controversy over the rigging of the 2018 national elections seems to be
escalating day by day into a confrontation rather than reconciliation that is
in the interest of democracy and not in the interest of the nation. The
government-opposition PDM coalition has taken a hard line on the issue. The PDM
announced in its last protest rally on Sunday at the Minar-e-Pakistan ground
that there would be no dialogue with the government. Opposition leaders, in
their scathing speeches, slammed the government and challenged the
Establishment, which they said was patronizing the government, especially PDM
chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. “Anarchy is appearing in the country these days
and I feel threatened that the Pakistani people and the establishment may not
stand in front of each other”. One leader also said that old Pakistan was
better than new, if you don't want to make another Bangladesh, then curb this
scourge. If the provinces were independent, Bangladesh would not be formed.
Another leader spoke of rebuilding the country. Prime Minister Imran Khan spent
Sunday in peace. "These meetings are being held to get NROs to save my
looted wealth by blackmailing me, but I am not going to give," he said in
a statement on the website. The opposition is wasting time, money and effort by
holding rallies. Federal ministers also termed the meeting as the biggest
meeting of the opposition Minar Pakistan. Declaring the meeting a failure, he
said that the people have rejected the statement of PDM. Eleven parties
together could not hold a big rally with Imran Khan, the rally was big or
people sitting in small houses also saw Jim Ghafir of the people on TV channels
through the eyes of the camera and also heard the slogans that were put up
there. Instead of focusing on political claims, policy makers should anticipate
the future based on facts. In this regard, Jamaat-e-Islami's Deputy Amir
Liaquat Baloch said that it was noteworthy that unemployment, high prices and
bad language of ministers were fueling the opposition movement. He termed
national dialogue as essential for finding a solution to the problem. The
objective situation of the country demands that the direction of politics
should be changed and towards reconciliation instead of confrontation.
Negotiations are the only way to achieve this, which is the equal
responsibility of the government and the opposition. Both should move in this
direction as comprehensive national dialogue is essential to rid the nation of
fears of an uncertain future.
